Rulyn Dog Grooming

Some exciting news for Rulyn Dog Grooming… we’re relocating! Don’t worry - we’re only moving just around the corner from our current premises! Our new home will be in the beautiful garden of St Vincent Guest House. We have a lovely Wendy House (their old Summer House/Tea Garden Kitchen) that will soon be transformed into a fully functioning dog grooming salon, tucked away in a peaceful, secluded and secure spot in the garden - complete with stunning valley views. Not that the dogs will appreciate the scenery, but I certainly will!

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time working alongside Jacquie at The Lyn Valley Dog House, who will also be relocating - and she’ll be just around the corner from us too! I truly can’t thank Jacquie enough for inviting me to groom in her shop when she moved back in 2023. Without her, Rulyn simply wouldn’t exist. She gave me the opportunity to start something wonderful here, in the place I’m proud to call home.

Due to a change of circumstances at our previous premises, it became very difficult to find a suitable property in Lynton that could accommodate two businesses with very specific needs. After exploring many potential options without success, we mutually agreed that finding separate locations was the best way forward. While I will greatly miss working alongside Jacquie every day, I feel incredibly honoured that Maria and Clive at St Vincent Guest House have kindly offered me the opportunity to create my own little salon within the grounds of their gorgeous B&B. I’m so grateful for the time, effort and support they’re putting into helping me create a beautiful space - just for me, my own pooches, and of course my wonderful clients, both four-legged and two-legged alike! I’ll continue to keep all my clients updated throughout the move, and once we’re settled in, I’ll be in touch ahead of your appointments with all the details you need. Thank you, as always, to every single person who supports my small business. Without you, none of this would be possible.

Welcome!
Meet the hosts: Maria & Clive

About Us

Hi, and welcome!

We completed the purchase and moved into St Vincent Guest House on 6th August 2020. We welcomed guests through our fantastically quirky front door from as soon as the 9th of August! Since then, we haven't looked back and we absolutely love it!

Clive’s background is made up of a patchwork of jobs; from being a plasterer & builder, to Chauffeuring and protecting the rich, famous & several Royal Dignitaries!

Maria’s background is in office work - mainly administration roles for several Estate Agents, Accountancy Firms, and the NHS. Her last permanent role was working for Bow County Court, before picking up the challenge of running St Vincent Guest House.

Rulyn Dog Grooming will be available in our Front Garden Cabin from May.
Guests can arrange to have their dog(s) pampered during their stay with us. We will also offer any of Beth’s customers a chance to sit in our garden or dining room for a cuppa, whilst they wait for their dog(s) are being groomed.
Although we are Dog Friendly we do have 3 resident cats and we also have 3 other neighbours cats that visit us on a daily basis.

Hazel is a 9 Year Old Russian Blue born in the Countryside just outside Moscow. We rescued her from Clive’s last boss in mid 2020.

Felix (aka The Beast/Panther of Exmoor as he is extremely long) is approximately 4 years old and again we rescued him (from Lynmouth) after his owners left the area/went back home and got him as a play mate for Hazel.

Moos (Tabby/White) is also approximately 4 years old and adopted us in early 2024, after he kept coming up from Lynmouth to eat and get attention from us. Even after finding out who his owners were, we kept returning him to them on numerous occasions, but still kept coming back within an hour of doing so. He now lives with us permanently following his owners relocating to Cheddar.
